History

The idea for the Billiant product was initially conceived within the consultants group of Transtema AB in 1999. The spin-off company Billiant AB was started in January of 2000 to implement the idea into an actual product and take a position in the market.

In late 2001 Billiant was merged with Connova AB, a supplier of billing and customer care software for the pay-TV market, listed on the Swedish stock exchange. In spring 2002 Connova decided to close all business related to billing and customer care systems. The original founders together with the core development team from Transtema AB then started Caleo Technologies AB and acquired the source code and necessary rights to the Billiant product.

Since then Caleo has released several new versions of the Billiant product and has acquired new customers and partners in several countries. The fact that Caleo still employs the entire core development team that has been developing the product since the start in 1999 has meant rapid development of the product which has enabled a unique market position when it comes to price/performance ratio.
